William Michael Cermak

William Michael Cermak, age 83, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025, under the compassionate care of Angela Hospice. Born in Detroit, Michigan on September 24, 1941, William lived a full life marked by love, family, hard work, and a passion for innovation and craftsmanship.

Beloved husband of the late Susan Cermak, who preceded him in death in 2014, William was a devoted family man who found great joy in the lives of his children and grandchildren. He was the loving father of Julie (David) Feierfeil and Michael (Kristin) Cermak, and the proud and cherished grandfather of Madelyn, Isabella, Andrew, and Abigail. William was also the dear brother of Robert (Marianne) Cermak, and a caring uncle to Claudine and Kevin.

A lifelong learner, William earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Wayne State University and later achieved his Master’s Degree from Eastern Michigan University. He went on to build a successful 35-year career with Ford Motor Company, where he retired with pride. Known for his deep appreciation of automobiles, William was a true “car guy” who loved collecting model cars and never missed a chance to share stories and knowledge about the industry he knew so well.

William also had a passion for home improvement projects and was always eager to take on a new task or learn the latest technology. He was a man ahead of his time—always curious, always trying something new. His retirement years were spent in Florida, where he embraced the warmth of the sun and the friendships he made within his community.

William's kindness, humor, and steady presence will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial gathering to honor William’s life will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 5:00 p.m. at Harry J. Will Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Angela Hospice in gratitude for the care and compassion they provided.

William’s memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched, and his legacy of love and dedication will never be forgotten.
