Bill was the beloved husband of Adele for 60 wonderful years. Their love story began while they were both attending the University of Detroit. What started with a simple coffee date became a beautiful life together, filled with love, family, and countless memories.
Bill was the loving father of Michelle (Philip) Lickman, Allison (Ryan) Maki, and Carolyn (Christopher) Giannelli. He was the cherished grandfather of Emily and Sophia Lickman, Colin and Kendall Maki, and Olivia, Leonardo, and Ava Giannelli. He was the dearest brother of Martha (Jim) Newton and was preceded in death by his siblings, Jimmy, Mary Lou, and Elizabeth. Bill was also a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Bill grew up in Ann Arbor and graduated from St. Thomas the Apostle High School. He always had a strong passion for airplanes and flying. While in high school, Bill earned his pilot’s license. In addition to his love for flying, Bill also enjoyed boating, deer hunting, and fishing.
After high school, he began his studies in the seminary before eventually changing career paths. He went on to earn his Bachelor's degree and two Master's degrees from the University of Detroit. Throughout his career, Bill had a genuine gift for helping people as a psychologist and social worker. He also taught at Washtenaw Community College.
As a devout Catholic, Bill's strong faith carried him throughout his life. He was a longtime member of St. James Catholic Church in Novi.
Bill will be remembered for his devotion to family, strong Catholic faith and ability to help others. He will be tremendously missed and lovingly remembered.
