William George Kushner

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Josephine and his son Dave. Bill is survived by his devoted girlfriend, Carol and his loving children, John (Vanessa) and Sandy (Dan). He was a cherished grandfather to Kathryn (Chris), Lori (Tim), Andy (Jenny), Steve (Angel), Garrett, and Kenny. A proud great-grandfather to Elle, Eve, Samson, Torrin, Ty, Christian, Lucas, Jude, Lianna, Dominic, Stashi, William and Brooke. Bill also leaves behind his brother Richard (Carol), brother-in-law John, sister-in-law Terri and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Carol, Jim and Ken.

Bill retired from Detroit Diesel after a long and respected career. Known for his skills and determination, he could fix anything and was passionate about fishing, hunting and cars. A longtime parishioner of St. Edith Catholic Church in Livonia, Bill deeply valued his prayer group and served faithfully as an usher for many years. He enjoyed traveling extensively throughout Michigan, always appreciating the beauty of his home state.

Family, faith and friends were the pillars of Bill’s life. His legacy of kindness and hard work will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a scripture reading at 7:00 PM at Harry J. Will Funeral Home. The funeral mass will take place on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 11:30 AM (in state 11:00 AM) at St. Edith Catholic Church. Bill will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
