What can I tell you about my Dad, he was never one to use one word when there were so many! We had many long conversations and debates and nearly all of them ending with a laugh.
That's my Dad always got a funny story to make you laugh! My favourite memories are watching him on video calls to my sisters and wife and seeing them laughing!
I remember him showing me his carpentry skills when we made a large wooden picture frame. Another fond memory is when he came to visit us in Spain when he was in his seventies, we took him to the beach and he had us in stitches trying to get on a lilo in the sea, he managed it though and loved it! My Dad loved walking and swore by a garlic clove with his dinner every day which he swore was the secret to his long life and getting to his 100th year says it all. He had a strong faith which also gave him great comfort and would often quote passages from the bible to help advise us and steer us in the right direction. What I will remember most about my Dad is our relationship and how much Love there was, we always said I Love you at the end of a phone call and our bond was strong. I will also miss the humour we shared and his stories.
Thanks for everything Dad! You will always be in my heart and I know you are still with me. Until we meet again stay reasonably well! XXXXXX

Forty years ago I sadly lost both my parents, thirteen years later in  1996, I was so lucky to meet my soul mate and the love of my life Bertram (Shad) who became my husband. Shortly after meeting Shad I then met his father Archie who welcomed me into the family and became a second father to me. Throughout the last 27 years we have shared so much laughter and some tears but I will always treasure the times we spent together and Dad was always there for both of us! He regaled us with many a funny story and was always there to give advice and guidance. It is very hard to say goodbye to you Dad but I know you will be with all of us in spirit and I know you knew how much we loved you and how much you will be missed! Thank you for being you, we will also miss that infectious laugh of yours and that big smile. Until we meet again. XXXXXX

Archie was part of our family for several years . He was a very witty and clever man ! May he rest in peace and we send our condolences to his family and friends.

Dear Mary.  We are deeply sorry for the loss of your soul mate friend. There’s a saying that “people come into our lives for a reason, a season or a lifetime”.  Your beautiful smiles say it all. You and Archie shared a wonderful, comforting friendship that you will remember for your lifetime.  

We feel blessed to have known Archie. He has left an imprint on our hearts for all the care and concern he had for you, our dear friend.  He touched a lot of hearts with his humour and brilliant smile.  May he rest in peace. 

Mary, you were a godsend to Archie especially when he went into the nursing home.  You advocated for his well being and kept him company right up to the end. Archie would want you to take the time now to rest and look after yourself, keep smiling 😃

   I was a friend of Archie’s.  We visited many times over the past three years and shared many stories and good times.  To know Archie was to love him.  Good bye Archie.  I will miss you very much!
