Rob, Tara, Jake & Zach,

My deepest condolences on the passing of Austin. I had the privilege of coaching Austin at Regina Mundi when he was a Titan for grade 9 and grade 10 before he moved onto Laurier. Austin was not only a truly special athlete but a tremendous young man. in my 12 years of coaching, he definitely stands out above most in many ways. Austin was kind, passionate and determined which rubbed off on those around him.

I remember fondly watching game film over lunch periods with him and the other team captains to prepare for our opponents and he would always be at his best on game day. I will always remember his tenacity on the field, taking on the biggest and best our opponents had to offer with a smile on his face. Specifically, the last junior game of Austin's grade 9 season, we were in a tight battle against the eventual city champs JPII. Austin laid one of the biggest hits I have seen in junior football on their star running back and that set the tone for one of the best games RMC Football has ever played.

May he rest in peace and may fond memories of Austin guide you all through the difficult times ahead.

God Bless,

Matt Costella

Austin, you were everything. We didn't know each other for long, but you always made sure I had a smile on my face. Our car rides home after football practice meant more to me than you could ever imagine. Thank you for giving my brother someone to look up to. You were so deeply loved and cared for and will be missed forever.
Rest in peace Austin.

Today me and Finn spoke at length of all the times we spent together, all the stupidity we got up to and the shenanigans we had, memories I’ll cherish forever. The respect I had for a kid who switched schools going into grade 11 and immediately bought in to the community and become part of our Rams family was something special. To watch you battle back from your hand injury and immediately make an impact upon your return to the sport you loved was uplifting to everyone around you and gave hope to a group of guys who’d never reached their goals on the field. There’s plenty of stories me and my brother talked about today that I wish we could have reminisced about, many of which I’ll surely talk about forever, simply put I wish we had more time Carrothers. You will be missed, may you Rest In Peace brother

I had only had spent a few times with you in person when you came to New York to visit. During those times I thought that you were the most caring, polite, thoughtful young man I had met in a very long time. That was because you had the love and support of a loving family. After reading notes your friends had left for you , you truly were a beacon of light to many and a very special person. God must have bigger plans for you.
Rest In Peace, sweet Austin.
Love, Tammy

I had the pleasure of meeting Austin through powerhouse training. The list of great things I can say about this young man goes on and on. His dedication, his mannerism, his attitude, positivity and our mutual obsession with the New Orleans Saints. WHO DAT NATION! I would train at powerhouse 5 days a week and sometimes more when we went and did field work. Austin would be there everytime with me without fail. I committed to play football at the University of Calgary and I can honestly say this kid would push me EVERYDAY I trained with him for the year leading up to my leave. No doubt in my mind he had the talent to take his skills to play at the next level. It's been 4 years in Calgary now and I loved catching up with him at the annual powerhouse new years eve pump. You'll be missed this year my friend. I'll be playing the last 2 weeks of the season for you.
