IN THE CARE OF
Needham Funeral Service
GARDINER, Elizabeth (Betty)
It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Betty. She is survived by her children: Robin Desjarlais (Heather), Cauline Cupskey (Doug), Bernie Desjarlais (Kim), Brian Desjarlais (Sid), and Kevin Desjarlais (Stephanie). She was a grandmother to 13 grand children and several great grand children. She is also survived by her sister, Eleanor Kasawan. She was predeceased by her daughter Darlene Courtrielle (2006), Gary Desjarlais (2009), Bill Gardiner (2010), and Don Hamlin (2019).
Mom was born into a large family of 14 children. She was the third youngest and often shared stories of her childhood living in Newfoundland. She loved to dance and listen to Irish and country music, especially Harry Hibbs. She survived many struggles in her life and endured them all.
Mom spent the last years of her life afflicted with dementia at Chartwell Longterm Care. We’d like to especially thank the Chartwell staff for the loving care and support they gave to our mother during her final years.
Visitation will be held on August 10, 2022 from 4-7 pm at Needham Funeral Service (530 Dundas St, London) and where the funeral service will be held on Thursday August 11, 2022 at 11 am.
