1924-2025
With deep love and gratitude for her extraordinary life, we announce the peaceful passing of Emma Etta Peake - known fondly as Etta - at the age of 100. Etta passed away just seven days after the death of her beloved husband, Frank Peake, marking the end of a beautiful life shared in love and adventure.
Born in 1924, shortly after her parents arrived from Scotland, Etta was the second of seven siblings. She devoted her life to caring for others, working as a dedicated nurse at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario, before continuing her calling as a school nurse. Her compassion and commitment touched countless lives over the decades.
Etta embraced life with remarkable energy. She was a longtime member of Huff n’ Puff, where she found community and joy in staying active. A world traveler, she journeyed far and wide with Frank and their close friends, creating cherished memories across the globe. Her passions were as vibrant as her spirit - she had a keen eye for photography, a steady hand for painting and knitting, and she never lost her graceful touch at the piano.
Etta lived a life rich with joy and meaning, but also one marked by profound loss; predeceased by her two sons Neil and Donald Bellamy and by cherished partners Edward Bellamy, Amos Carvell, and Frank Peake, each of whom was an important chapter in her journey. She is also predeceased by her siblings Margaret Atkinson, Donald, Alexander, and Charles Fraser.
She leaves behind her loving daughters, Catherine McCoy (Steve) and Connie Bellamy; granddaughters Karen Suozzi and Christine Balsillie (Greg); and great-grandchildren Liam, Lauren, and Isabella Suozzi. She will also be dearly missed by her sisters, Hilda Fraser and Sheila Johnston; her special nieces, Mary Fraser and Susie Kinghorn; and many others who loved her.
Etta’s strength, warmth, and zest for life left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She will be remembered with love, and missed more than words can express.
Visitation will be held At Needham Funeral Service (520 Dundas St, London) on Thursday, July 10th from 12-2pm with a funeral service to follow at 2pm. Cremation to follow. Tributes may be made at www.needhamfuneralhole.com
