To the family of Harolda Drummond:

Please accept my sincerest condolences on the passing of your Auntie. I first became acquainted with Harolda through my father, Ed Houghton. They were friends from their time at London Life.

When my dad died, Harolda was one of the first visitors to come to call. She and I must have spent a good twenty minutes or more reminiscing about my dad and laughing loudly at our funny memories of him. It was wonderful and Harolda’s warmth, kindness and good humour really cheered me up.

From then on, I was her friend too. We exchanged Christmas cards every year and I especially enjoyed her phone calls in the new year when she just wanted to check in and see that my husband and I were well. I’m really going to miss that.

Again, please accept my deepest sympathy on the passing of such a special Auntie and friend.

Yours sincerely,
Nancy Houghton-Larue
