Helen Haward

Of Whitby ON. Sadly, my dear sweet Mother, in her 92nd year, passed away on Wednesday February 17th, 2016 at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa. Helen was born in Cambuslang Scotland to Agnes and George McKibbin. She married Harry Haward, of Norwich England, in 1945. They emigrated to Canada in 1948 and settled in London On. She was predeceased by Harry ( 1977), siblings William, Margaret, George, Elizabeth and Kathleen. She is survived by her daughter Carol Ann Magister and her husband Herb, her two precious grand dogs, Jasper and Molly, Siblings Myra, John, Agnes and Anne Marie. Sisters in law Pam Haward and Joan Swatman of Norwich England, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends in Whitby, Toronto, London and Norwich, England. After many years of service to Eaton's, London, Helen retired and moved to Whitby in 1988. Helen was a wonderful Mother and best friend to Carol Ann and will be forever missed. Together the two of them went on some great adventures to the Caribbean Islands, Florida, England and Austria. Helen had a wonderful witty sense of humour and just loved any sort of get together or party. If there was dancing, all the better! She particularly embraced cottage life and loved sitting on the deck watching the lake, and perhaps a wee drinkie. Helen will always be remembered as a lovely lady. The family would like to thank Dr. Scott Burwell for all his kindness to Helen over the past 28 years. Also the nursing staff in cardiology and palliative care at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, The entire staff at The Colonial and Brenda, PSW (St. Elizabeth). There will be a funeral service at St Georges Presbyterian Church, 1475 Dundas Street, London ON at 12 noon on Monday February 22nd, 2016. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
