Peacefully at the Dearness Home, our Beloved Mother, Helen Laura Maylard, in her 93rd year, passed away Friday Feb.12th 2021. Mom is now with her Beloved Husband, our Father, A. Martin Maylard (deceased 2012). Our mother was a person full of wisdom, loved her family, and always enjoyed to have company and conversation. Mom was very gifted in knitting many kinds of elaborate gifts for her family and also gifted in home decor. Mom knitted many beautiful dolls, mice, turtles, police officer and many other beautiful creations. Mom’s talent for knitting was a sight to behold. Mom was very talented in setting up her Christmas Displays. With her many displays, in various rooms in the house. Mom and Dad enjoyed their yearly trip to Niagara Falls and travelled to several of Canada’s Provinces. Some of their trips were with their grandchildren. Their trips took them to many places around the world.
Mom and Dad were the proud, loving, parents of their six children, Lynda (John) Dale, Laura (Geoffrey) Goodwin, Freda (Peter) Kjeldsen, Karen (Mark) McNeill, Margaret Maylard, Martin (Sharon) Maylard. Mom leaves behind her loving sister Gladys (husband Harold Cowin).
Grandchildren: Martin & Josephine (nee Cervoni) Bloemberg, Helen (nee Bloemberg) & Scott Pearson, Sara & Jessica Kjeldsen, Matthew & Carissa McNeill, Adam & Alana McNeill, Amanda & Jeff Kalinovich, James & Lara Smythers, William & Madison Maylard
Great-Grandchildren: Mitchell Bloemberg, Nicholas & Jocelyn Pearson, Brady & Kaylee McNeill, Fiona & Finnegan McNeill, Izabella, Olivia, & Scotlynn Kalinovich
Predeceesed by her Siblings and their Spouses: Christianna (Faircloth) Ray Henderson; Jessie(Faircloth), Eddie Smith; Ernest W. Faircloth, Maria Proux, Alma (Faircloth), Perry Smith, Melbourne (Faircloth), Shirley Fox, Margaret (Faircloth), Ralph Johnston, Rosina (Faircloth), James Betteridge, Freda (Faircloth), Kenneth Patrick. Predeceased by her Parents: Hugh Faircloth & Emma Faircloth nee (MacDonald).
Our family thanks the Dearness Home, Nurses, Caregivers, Chaplain, Hairdresser, Volunteers any Helpers, who took care of our mom. Thank you for the care given to mom from all of the staff on the 5th Floor Ash Acres. Thank You, from all of her Family.
Mom is now in the Loving Hands of our Saviour Jesus Christ.
A private graveside service will take place at a later date.
