The family of Norman James Leneve announces his passing with great sadness. Norman left this world peacefully, surrounded by love. He will be remembered for his strong personality, unwavering loyalty, and his remarkable ability to fill any room with conversation, stories, and heartfelt opinions.
Born to Ken and Sharon Leneve, Norman was a lifelong resident of the community and a proud member of a large and devoted family. He is survived by his brother Ken (Rebecca), his sisters Tinna (Jerry) and Kim (Chad), and by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who cherished him deeply. He is predeceased by his sisters Tammie (1979) and Chantelle (2023).
Norman was the loving father of Jayme Nielson, cherished grandfather to Logan, and proud father of Chaise Dewbury. His children and grandson were the great pride and joy of his life.
Known for his gift of gab, Norman was rarely without a story to tell or an opinion to share. Fiercely protective of those he loved, he defended his family without hesitation and carried a deep loyalty to the people closest to him.
Throughout his working years, Norman built a respected career as both a mechanic and a drywaller, trades that showcased his skill, determination, and hands-on talent. His passion for engines—beginning with dirt bikes and later motorcycles—was a defining part of his life. Friends and neighbours grew familiar with the sight of a car in the laneway and Norman working thoughtfully beside it.
Outside of work, Norman found peace in nature. He enjoyed backyard campfires and treasured his many innertube and dinghy rides down the Thames River. It was not uncommon for him to walk down Egerton Street, slip into the river, and spend the day floating along its gentle current.
Norman lived with honesty, stubbornness, humour, and heart. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for the stories he shared, the engines he brought back to life, and the unwavering love he held for his family.
Visitation will be held at Needham Funeral Service, (520 Dundas Street, London), on March 10, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and again on March 11, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm. Where the complete funeral service will be held at 1:30. Cremation to follow.
