William Douglas Atkinson

1941 - 2025

William (Bill) Atkinson passed away peacefully surrounded by family at University Hospital on June 15th, 2025. He was 84 years old. Bill is survived by his lovely wife Darlene Atkinson, and his 3 sons Bill (Nadia) Atkinson, Geoff (Paula) Atkinson, and John Atkinson. He was also survived by his sister Mary (Jim) Walker, and his 7 grandchildren ( Thomas, Isabella, Alex, Sophia, Hallie, Avery, and Noah).

Bill thoroughly enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing competitive sports in his youth (Clarke Road High School), and when age finally caught up to him, watching and supporting all his children and grandchildren in their extra curricular activities. Bill will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his wife and family, his big heart and very likable personality, as well as commitment to hard work and maintaining strong friendships.

Special thanks to cardiologist Doctor Patrick Teefy, and Urologist Doctor Jonathan Izawa for aiding him in providing some extra time with his family.

Visitation will be held at Needham Funeral Service (520 Dundas St) on July 7, 2025 from 10 am until Noon followed by a Memorial Service at noon. Fond memories can be left at www.needhamfuneralhome.com
