Al was always smiling and the first to tell a silly joke. In the past year he was so concerned for me after the loss of my son. Always asking how I was doing. Always sending his love. We will miss him very much. He was so kind and so very happy all the time. The Knights of Columbus has lost a legacy in him.

Our hearts are with the Sviatek family during this time of sorrow. Grandpa Al was a GREAT man. May our Father in heaven bless the Sviatek family with many years of memories of Al and Joanne.

"Big Al" was a great guy. He will be greatly missed.

Al was a friend to everyone he met. He has left a lasting impression on many of us, and was a role model as a man of family, faith, and friendship. I rejoice that he is back with his wife and best friend Joanne, as that is when Al was at his happiest. May God bless the Sviatek family today and always.

I was fortunate enough to meet Al exactly 2 weeks ago before God called him home. I met Al through his son Stan. That afternoon when I was introduced to Al I knew that I was going to like him. He and Stan are so similar, being in the same room with both of them was such a blessing.  Al had shared with me that afternoon about how he met the love of his life, Joanne. From the moment he mentioned her name, his face lit up and I could hear the love that he had for her in his words and facial expressions.  What an amazing love story, 60 years! You just don't see that today.

I was also intrigued by his stories of when he was in the service and when he was a traveling salesman. I was looking forward to hearing many more stories, but for that 1 day I will be thankful that he shared so much, and for him to be so open with a complete stranger, it made me feel welcome.  

I left that day telling Stan that I was glad to have met his father, and that I appreciated his dad taking the time to talk with me and to share some beautiful stories of a life well lived.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Sviatek family, and I will forever be grateful for that day when I again, was reminded of how life is such a gift, and to treasure those special moments that come to us when we least expect it.

I am very sorry to hear of Al's passing.  He always had a joke and was a pleasure to be around. He has joined others of the "old guard" that worked hard to make Council 3629 what it is today.  He and Joanne were at every function and a real part of our council. May God welcome him. 
I am in Michigan and therefor cannot make the services, but I will be there in spirit.

A beautiful shining star has been taken from us.  Al was a beacon of light to all who knew him or came in contact with him.  I knew Al from Church, I always looked forward to his smile his wit and most of all his loving ways....Al you will be missed by everyone who knew you and I will miss seeing you in the Church Hall serving up food and coffee after Mass on Sundays and at Bunko on the first Friday evening of the month.
My love and prayers are with the family at this time and I pray that God gives them His loving strength to guide them through this sad time.  Just know that we will all be together one day and what a glorious day that will be.

"Big Al" was not only a big man in the best sense of the word, he will always be remembered for his big heart. My wife and I got to know Al through his loving son, Stan. A few weeks before Al made his transition, Al and I were having coffee. He shared with me how proud he was of his family, especially Stan and his other children, his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. He reminisced about what a good life he had enjoyed, but he said he was lonely and missed Joanne. "Big Al" was a giant among men--when he shook your hand, you knew he did so sincerely, and when he hugged you, you knew you had been hugged! God bless you, Al, may perpetual light shine on you, and may your light continue to illuminate the paths of your family and many friends.
