

Arpad Ernest Balogh, 85, of Lakewood, California passed away on February 2, 2015 at Lakewood Regional Medical Center. He was born on May 16, 1929 to Lajos and Julianna Burdi Balogh in Kispec, Hungary. Arpad married Maria Asztalos in 1955 and they came to America following the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, traveling first to Ohio and then to California in 1958. Arpad was a devout Catholic and attended Mass at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Los Angeles and St. Cyprian Parish in Long Beach. He enjoyed gardening, casino trips, and spending time with family and friends. Arpad is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Maria; children, Maria Naray, Arpad E. Balogh, Jr., and Dorothea B. Simon; sons-in-law Kalman Naray and David Simon; grandchildren Julia Naray, Tibor Naray and wife Elyce, Robert Simon and Alex Simon; and great-grandson, Bodi Naray. The family will sadly miss their dear "Papa". May he rest in peace. Nyugodjék békében. Services will be held on Wednesday, February 11, at All Souls Mortuary, with a viewing at 11:30 am, followed by a Rosary at noon, Mass at 1:00 pm, and graveside services.
