Reflections on the Life of Catherine Dumas St. Julian On January 26, 1945 a star named Catherine was born to Lucas and Florence Dumas in Beaumont, Texas. From that moment on the program "Raising Dumas" could have been created. Catherine was Baptized and Confirmed Catholic at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She continued serving the Lord throughout her life. Catherine attended Blessed Sacrament School, Lincoln Jr High then moving to Los Angeles California where she graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Los Angeles, Ca. She later moved to Northern California where she studied Nursing and there she discovered her passion of caring for others and ultimately choosing a career as a Medical Assistant which she worked for over 25 years in the city of Pasadena. In 1965 she married her longtime admirer from Blessed Sacrament School in Beaumont Texas Mr. Paul St. Julian Jr. From that union 3 sons were born. Paul III, Travis and Christopher all of whom resides in California. Besides being a great talker that earned her the title "Chatty Cathy" she was also an avid reader and her quest for knowledge never ceased. If there was something to learn no matter its subject she was always willing to listen and learn everything about it. She also enjoyed the sounds of music, singing, dancing, crocheting, sewing and cooking her favorite Seafood Gumbo. She loved entertaining no matter if you were a long lost relative, old or new friend or a complete stranger (to the rest of us) you were always welcomed in her home, as she never met a stranger. Although her most precious time was spent with her grandchildren Andrew, Sierra and Caleb who lovingly called her Momma Catt, she loved everyone and if you had an upcoming Birthday you can always count on her remembering. She treated everyone with Ultimate Respect. Always willing to help if you had a problem even if it caused her to have less for herself. She went far and beyond expectation of her care for her Mother Florence for over 20 years which we are all grateful. Catherine was blessed and knew it. She leaves to mourn: Paul Jr. her 3 sons Paul III, Travis (Jessica, Travis Jr. born December 6, 2014) and Christopher, her 4 grandchildren Andrew, Sierra, Caleb and Travis Jr. mother Florence Dumas Franks, 3 siblings Patricia Jolivet, Blanche Spires( Fred) and Lucas Dumas(Shirley) her Special Aunt Blanche ,nieces and nephews Michael, Vernon, Joseph, Daryle, Darrell, Sheila, Felicia, Shaunta and many great nieces and nephews, her favorite cousins Sylvia and Patricia plus a host of relatives and precious friends from around the world... She will always be remembered for her generosity and kind spirit. the face and spirit comforts me the soft voice when you spoke to me the way you changed near every june to later patching up my wound. through wrongs and rights, a fleeting glimpse of love and all that sings to eyes that shed the innocence of a Texas girl with wings to raising three young stubborn boys and never wanting out one day my boy will show me too what that is all about I hope you see I understand what you were trying to do a better place on earth and space for them, and me, and you from fighting blood, and weakness too the painful days you made it through you suffered to stay here for us god thinks you've suffered here enough save a spot there next to you we'll find some up there things to do until then I'll keep you in mind through loving, growing, space, and time
