Don Charles Metcalfe

Don Charles Metcalfe passed away unexpectedly during the early morning hours of August 5, 2016. Don was born May 13, 1950 in Long Beach, California, and resided there as well as in Tustin, California his entire life. Don was 66 years old at the time of his untimely death. He was retired at the time of his death, but previously worked for the Tustin Unified School District. Always one to help others in need, Don voluntarily served as a Big Brother, anonymous charitable donor, elementary school crossing guard, as well as many other community service activities. Don was predeceased by his father, Charles R. Metcalfe, and his mother, H. Gloria Metcalfe. He is survived by his brother, John C. Metcalfe (Betsy), and sisters, Paula Diane Klingman and Sylvia “Gina” Chapman (Randy), as well as numerous nephews and nieces. In Don’s honor, a Rosary will be held at 9:00 am Friday, August 12, 2016 followed by a Catholic Mass at St. Cornelius Catholic Church beginning at 10:00 am. His burial will occur at All Souls Cemetery. St. Cornelius Catholic Church is located at 5500 E. Wardlow Road, Long Beach, California. All Souls Cemetery is located at 4400 Cherry Avenue, Long Beach, California.
