Edwin D Kaiser

Edwin Kaiser (1937-2012) a long time resident of Long Beach, CA and Big Sandy, MT died after a eight year battle with Alzheimer’s. Ed spent 4 years in the Navy. He spent most of his adult life in the Long Beach area married to Jean Kaiser (who died of Cancer in 1993). He is survived by his son, Jeff Kaiser of Long Beach, and grandsons Christopher and Cody. He is also survived by his daughter Kelly Kaiser Clark and her husband Gary of Elgin, Texas, and grandsons Jake and Logan. Ed retired from United Airlines after over 30 years. At the time of his death, he was married to Jan Reichelt Kaiser of Montana. Also survived by his stepson,Mark and his wife Connie Reichelt and granddaughters Madison and Sophie,Big Sandy,Mt.

Ed was a do-it yourself guy long before HGTV came on the scene and kept two vehicles and his home ship-shape creating wood pieces for the interior and an inviting patio ready at a moments notice for barbeque for family, friends and neighbors. He came to the rescue of more than one neighbor with his handyman skills.

Ed was a guy who liked the outdoors vacationing with family and had every type of camping equipment from tents to pop-up campers to RVs for trips to King’s Canyon, Glamis and Montana. The favorite parts of his trips were hiking, spending time with family and cruising through the dunes in his dune buggy. He was an avid cyclist and loved nothing more than long rides from his home to Newport Beach, CA. In the later part of his life he continued his adventures in travels to Ecuador, Alaska and Glacier National Park.

Ed’s current wife, Jan Reichelt Kaiser was a neighbor of his in Big Sandy and they married in 1995. She arranged a memorial service to be held in St. Margaret-Mary’s Catholic Church in Big Sandy, Montana on Saturday, July 21 followed by a graveside service in the Big Sandy Cemetery. He will be interred next to his wife Jean.
