F. Marie Sam

F. Marie Sam passed away on August 26, 2013 in Long Beach, California. She was born in Hazel Park, Michigan on May 15, 1924. She moved to California in 1960. She was a Registered Nurse and had her Master's degree in Nursing. She taught in the Vocational Nursing and Registered Nursing Programs, and she was the Department head of the Vocational Nursing Program in Long Beach City College for 35 years upon retiring in 1987. Then she substituted for Golden West College for 5 years. The memorial service will be held at The First United Methodist Church of Lakewood on 4300 Bellflower Blvd., Lakewood, CA at 10 am on September 5, 2013, with a reception in her memory to be held in the church hall immediately following the service. She survived by her daughter Catherine E. Sam, her sister Betty L. Krug (husband Jim), her sister-in-law Frances Short, plus many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.
