Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt and friend, Faye Jeannette Rasmussen Wright returned to her Heavenly Father on April 19, 2014, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on October 26, 1940 in Manitoba, Canada to Rosemary May Ross and Marlow Alphonso Rasmussen. She was a graduate of Bellflower High School, class of 1960. Faye married her best friend and love of her life, Mailon Ruben Wright in the Los Angeles LDS Temple on October 22, 1960. Being a wife, mother and homemaker was what made Faye the happiest. She could always be found watching her boys play baseball or daughters at piano recitals and tall flag competitions, or anywhere her children were. She was their biggest fan. She was blessed with several talents throughout her life. Her love for music was felt and seen by the programs she wrote, choirs she directed, and the amazing pitch-perfect voice she shared with everyone. Faye had the gift of making others feel important and special. She wrote thousands of thank you letters, letting others know her love for them and gratitude for all they did. She loved being a grandmother. She was a doting grandmother who made holiday traditions important to all of them. She joined her grandchildren for Easter egg hunts, Fourth of July BBQ’s and fireworks, Halloween dress ups and of course, Christmas Eve Nativity. Her grandchildren especially loved her story telling with her funny voices and accents and the occasional slipper flying across the room. Faye was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, and the plan of salvation . She was called to many different callings and served in each one faithfully. She was full of life and was an influential person, inspiring and teaching those who knew and loved her. She will forever be loved and cherished by her family and will be greatly missed by all. But, she taught us to trust in our Heavenly Father and to take comfort and strength in knowing we will be together forever. We are grateful that she is no longer suffering and she is singing and directing the choirs in heaven. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Mailon Ruben Wright, their loving children: Ellen Ibey (Jerry), Terry Wright (Alicia), Laura O’Connor (Michael), Tyler Wright (Melissa), Todd Wright, their 19 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, her sister Elaine Weatherford, sister-in-law Lora Rasmussen, sister-in-law Mary Jane Heider, sister-in-law Shirley Egbert (Keith), brother-in-law Dick Wright, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Faye was preceded in death by her mother Rosemary Ross Rasmussen, father Marlow Rasmussen, brothers James Rasmussen and Wallace Rasmussen.
