Joyce A. English

Joyce Arnold English, 80, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 in Long Beach, California. Joyce was born on October 29, 1931 in Phillips, Nebraska. She is predeceased by her parents Earl and Edna (Harvey) Arnold of Phillips, Nebraska and her late husband of 49 years, Clyde Edward English of Long Beach, California. Joyce moved to California after graduating as Class President from Phillips High School, Phillips, Nebraska. She earned an AA degree at Long Beach City College. Joyce met Clyde while working for the Edison Company in Long Beach. They were married in November 1954. She worked with him in his accounting and bookkeeping business in Long Beach until their retirement in 2003. Joyce enjoyed traveling, volunteering at her church and spending time with her friends and family. She is survived by her three children, Diane (Thomas) Hull, Bryan (Denise) English and Craig (Karin) English as well as eight grandchildren. She is also survived by her six siblings, Stella Robert, Bernice Taylor, Betty Chambers, Robert Arnold, Marjorie Sharp and Frances O’Neel.
