

On August 21, 1997 in Los Angeles, California, Kevin Pu was born into this world. He was extremely hardworking, intelligent, funny, witty, and kind hearted. He was the best brother, son, and friend. He made those around him feel loved and treasured. In any event, Kevin would be there for friends and family because chose to be very intentional with all those he surrounded himself with.
Kevin was a first-generation Mexican and Chinese-Cambodian American, who comes from immigrant parents who fled from Cambodia and Mexico. His parents instilled in him the value of education, dedication, and perseverance. From a very young age, Kevin showed independence that noticeably carried him through his life with the way he held himself and the actions he did in his daily life.
Kevin attended East Career and Technical Academy where he majored in the medical field and graduated with high honors in Spring of 2015. During his time in high school, he was in multiple clubs and extracurricular activities, Key Club, Student Council, and held the position of Senior Class Treasurer.
In the Fall of 2015, Kevin started pursing higher education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He had interest in all fields of engineering ranging from biomedical, entertainment, and mechanical. In the end, he was on his way to graduate with his mechanical engineering degree and would have eventually liked to focus on aerospace engineering after graduation. Along the way, he was apart of Society of Asian Scientist and Engineers as the club treasurer. During his time off school, you would still find him doing projects that included 3D printing, taking apart and rebuilding different electronics, building his own drone, bike, and laptop. He was always willing to better himself and further his knowledge by constantly researching, reading, and learning.
Throughout his lifetime, Kevin travelled all over the world including Hawaii, Washington, Portland, San Francisco, Spain, Italy, and Amsterdam. His passions included his love for the outdoors, camping, hiking, fishing, and biking. He loved podcasts by Joe Rogan and Andrew Shults, music by Frank Ocean, Kanye, Kaytranada.
On Sunday, March 13th, 2022 Kevin passed away in California on the very soil he was born in. He left a legacy and mark on this earth that will continue on and flourish. To cherish and honor his memories, he leaves behind to his parents Vonn Pu, Martha Pu, sisters, Monica Kran, Cindy Pu, and Melanie Pu. His spirit with live through and beyond the Pu family. Kevin will be dearly missed and was and still is exceptionally loved.
A funeral service for Kevin will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Stricklin/Snively, 1952 Long Beach Blvd., Long Beach, CA 90806, followed by a witness cremation from 2:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
