OBITUARY

Kim Suon

October 5, 1947January 6, 2019

Afterglow I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one. I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun; Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.

MY FATHER-IN-LAW was Dedicated, Proud, Sincere, Direct, Strong, and Loving! These are all good one word ways to describe Mr. Kim Suon. This man brought his family from Cambodia to America and watched his five girls blossom into beautiful women with families of their own that he was proud of. LOL! The first time I met Mr. Kim Suon, he slammed the door in my face so hard. I could do nothing but laugh. My strange personality appreciated him being that protective over his family; over his daughter. But, after 18 years, I know there is no door he wouldn’t open for me. He blessed every car we had and every place we lived. The beads below are from a 2008 blessing that Mr. Kim Suon did just for me.

You will be Loved Always and will be truly missed, Rest In Peace Papa Sin!!

I’ve started this several times and I just don’t have the words. I hope I’ve made you proud, Pa. I love you.

My grandfather was somebody very close and special to me, not only because he is so loveable and cute💕, but because he always pushed me to do the right thing no matter what and he was always so positive. He was always there for me, never gave up on me. Even when I gave up on myself, he believed in me. I will forever miss and love him to death. He was sincerely the “best grandpa in the world” and no words will ever describe how much of an incredible and inspiring man he was to all of us.

He was a wonderful man who fiercely loved his family. He was a man that showed minimal emotion when around strangers, but when around my mother, his daughters, grandchildren, and son in-laws, he hid nothing. He taught me that loving hard is the only way to love. I am so proud to call him my father!!!

I will forever miss and love you, daddy!!!

Forever in my heart,

~ A-Tia

What more can I say then he will truly be missed. As a father-in-law he always pushe me to be a good husband and a good father. He was an amazing grandpa that loved his grandsons dearly. I have so much love and respect for him even though for about the first year of knowing each other I was Carlo and not Carmelo. He really was an amazing man that lived an amazing life. It shows in the children he raised and the grandchildren he loved.
