

from San Fernando La Union High School in 1957, she proceeded to study Nursing at Dagupan College in Dagupan City, Philippines. After graduating with a degree in Nursing, she traveled to Houston, Texas on a Nursing exchange program between the Philippines and the United States and Canada. Lolita later transferred to Ottawa, Canada then returned to the United States landing in Lakewood, CA and spent
over 25 years residing in Pismo Beach, CA. Lolita grew up and attended the same schools as her husband, Cipriano Galvez. When Lolita was in Ottawa, Canada, Cipriano joined her and they were married on October 12, 1968. Lolita and Cipriano went to have two children, Karen Galvez-Maquindang
and Ghemma Tanoue. After over thirty years working as a nurse, Lolita retired and spent her time
traveling all around the world and devoted time to her love of plants, specifically orchids. Lolita was also an avid member of the Filipino Community Association in the Central Coast for over thirty years and served as the President of the association for 14 years. Lolita was predeceased by her parents Bernardino and Olympia Valdez, brothers Albert Valdez and Juanito Valdez, and sisters Gloria Valdez and Milagros Soneja. Lolita is survived by her husband Cipriano Galvez, two daughters Karen Maquindang-
Galvez and Ghemma Tanoue, two sons-in-law Jerome Maquindang and Kurt anoue, and four grandchildren Keaolani Tanoue (21), Kalei Tanoue (15), Kaytlin Maquindang (9) and James Maquindang (6).
Services will be held at the following: Wake service will be held at Stricklin/Snively Mortuary in Long Beach, CA on February 27, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Pancratius Catholic Church in Lakewood, CA at 11:30 a.m. Burial service will beheld at All Souls Catholic Cemetery in Lakewood, CA at 1:00 p.m. Flowers may be sent to Stricklin/Snively Mortuary, 1952 Long Beach Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90806, kindly requesting the delivery date of the wake service on February 27, 2025.
