Lou passed away at his home after a year battle with infections. He is survived by his wife, Elaine, of 50 years and three children, Barbara McCarthy (Wayne), Deni May and Joe. Also two grandchildren, Shannon McCarthy (who preceded Lou in death in 2008) and Ali Alessandro (May). Lou was a decorated World War II veteran. Lou loved to fish, was an active mason for many years, taught drivers safety and was an instructor for 55 Alive for over ten years during his retirement. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, August 18 at 2:00pm at the Grace First Presbyterian Church at 3955 Studebaker Rd, Long Beach, CA.
