She was born in Cambodia and although her legal birth date states 1939, she was really 95 years old. There were no official records of births at that time.
She was married to her soulmate Noun Tunn and they had 8 children together, 3 sons and 5 daughters. Their names are Annawinfree Tunn, Maly Tunn, Samoan Tunn, Sameth Yim, Samech Tunn, Samiech Tunn, Samoeun Tunn, and Samith Tunn. She is also survived by many of her family including her niece and her husband Sokha LongHum and Richard Hofferd who she raised like her own daughter.
She is survived by many grandchildren including Suzanne Keo, Annie Pong, Samoeun Keo, the late Chea Keo, Thukkeneth Keo, Josh Keo, Nick Keo, Pich Davy, A Sol, Keara Nano, Manu, and Manao.
Mao was loved by so many.
Her favorite color was white and she always loved wearing all white. She was a very religious Buddhist worshiper who spent her time chanting and meditating. She devoted her life to doing good, practicing her religion, and spending time at the temple. She was a true angel on earth.
A visitation for Mao will be held Monday, October 12, 2020 from 3-7pm at Stricklin/Snively, 1952 Long Beach Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90806. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, October 13, 2020 from 3-7pm. A witness cremation will be held Wednesday, October 14 at 9am.
