Maurice A. Vanasse, 87, of Artesia, passed away August 31, 2010. Maurice served his country during WWII and graduated from MIT and received his master's from Brown University. Maurice had worked for NASA and was instrumental in the production of the first moon rover. Maurice retired from Rockwell International. Maurice is survived by his loving family: wife, Cindy; daughters, Shirley Householder and Gail Kelemen; son, Gary Vanasse; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Maurice was preceded in death by his son, Roger and grandson, Gary Vanasse. Visitation is Tuesday, 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm rosary, both at mortuary chapel. Funeral Mass is Wednesday, 10:00 am, Holy Family Catholic Church, Artesia.
