Melody and I met in 9th grade and remained friends after we were new Moms. When I had my first child, Melody and her baby came over to help. We lost touch as I moved around the country with my Navy Chief husband, but she was in my thoughts still. This wonderful woman certainly rests in the arms of the angels.

Too many years of friendship to explain. What we know about each other, the depth of our pain

We received the news that you were gone. How could it be? You've been there for so long.

Numb inside, not sure how to feel. It can't be true, it doesn't feel real.

Walking about mindlessly, not sure what to do. Our trio of sisterhood, is now down to two.

Step outside into the warm summer's night. Looking for something, got to make it feel right.

A full moon, a nice night, a sweet gentle breeze. Can feel the warmth on my skin, hear the wind rustling the leaves.

Look up to the sky, want the answers to come. Feeling Hollow inside, not expecting one.

Then out of nowhere amidst the moon's bright light. We see something surreal, something taking flight.

An Angel's wing as brilliant as can be. You're showing us you're here, you're telling us you're free.

While smiling at the knowledge that your spirit sent forth. We looked up in the sky and slightly off to the North.

There it was, a beautiful cross in the sky. The wing was moving towards it, it was beginning to fly.

Such comfort in knowing that there is nothing to fear. You did not die, you are still here.

This isn't goodbye, just a new beginning. You'll be there, arms outstretched when each of us get to Heaven.

Melody was my boss for several years at Expo-3 and was a great boss. Things were never the same after she left. My prayers and thoughts are with the family, she loved all of you very much. I am sorry I missed the funeral, Expo-3 said they would let me know the funeral arrangements as soon as they had them, but they did not notify me. Melody will be missed by all. Kim Deacon

Aunt Mel I didnt get to know you until I married into your family. After doing so, you were a very kind and loving person to me and my family. With that being said. You will be Missed and Loved

I did not personally know Ms. Schatz, but you can often see a person's heart through their eyes. As I viewed her photos, I could see life and joy she posessed and could see the kind heart that she shared. Though her time on this earth is done, her memory and the imprint she left on your lives will remain forever. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow.

Thank you for ALL the wonderful memories we made together in the last (short)5 years especially taking the time to teach me to sew :) That is my most precious memory of OUR time together and I will miss you dearly :( You fought a very LONG, hard battle and in that,we will all find strength.
God new we needed a strong guardian angel up above watching over this crazy family to keep us in line and safe :) Rest in peace!!! We will all see you again!!!  0:-) Love Always,Missy

I met her in the mid 80's and I remember her like it was yesterday. She was such a nice person to me and I will never forget her. She certainly will be missed by those that knew her. Though I will not be there in physical presence, I'll certainly be there spiritually. Thank you for the good memories and thank you for raising such good children!

Dear Aunt Mel,
You will be missed but most importantly celebrated as your life here on earth touched many lives of those around you.  My memories of you started early on with our families visiting each other every other weekend.  You watched me grow up, get married, have my first child and supported me and all those around you.  While you will be missed, you will be celebrated more.  May you rest in peace with God above. Love you always.
