Miss you on Father's Day. You would doing one of your favorite things. Having breakfast with family.

Your father was an honorable person whom distinguished himself for not only valor in service to our country, but, his legacy as a husband and father.

Some of the guests at the funeral today requested copies of the eulogy poem. I hope this gets to you.

               Our Dad

The hand held out to take our hands
as soft and warm as a fresh made bed
For truth he lived, no ifs or ands.

He traveled far, through many lands
at war, with fevers burning red.

never fell to fear upon those sands,
but dodged the shots and nimbly fled.

our wills to bend at his command.
A swift swat for those unable to be led.

once played loudly in the band

To walk with him was more than grand.

"Uncle Ray"-Dad enjoyed the years you roomed together after college, we enjoyed all the visits before and after you started your great family, and I was very proud to be your Godson. I'll never forget when, about the mid-60's, you had an "alarm clock" watch, (back when NO ONE had those). You entertained us for hours setting it and letting it go off. You were truly "ahead of your time". (Sorry we lost touch all those years when Mom moved away. Glad we caught up recently).  You have helped and blessed so many. May you Rest In Peace, and God Bless you, your family, and countless friends and their families.

Ray was a big part of my life growing up.  I remember regular family dinners and many Sundays at my grandparents' home.  Perhaps my fondest memory is years ago when I was a Camp Fire Girl.  Although it was after work and he had to drive some distance to do so, Ray attended a Father-Daughter dinner with me when my father was unable to.  I was truly privileged to have known him.

Thank you for sharing his great life story, We are proud to have known him.  Our deepest sympathy to the family.

Ray was one of my oldest and dearest friends.  We met when we were students at Loyola University and realized that we shared much in common. We were both born and raised in the east during the depression, joined the Army at an early age and served in the Pacific during WWII.  I was privileged to have been Ray's Best Man when he married Peggy in 1962 and am godfather to his daughter, Meg.  Ray was a decent and honorable man who loved his God, his family and his country, and he served them all well.  I know he is now enjoying the rewards of a life well spent. I salute you, old friend, for a job well done, and I will miss you.

Such a wonderful story about your father's life.  Although I did not know him personally I would like to send my deepest sympathy and condolences to you Suzanne and your family.

Ray was my godfather and a big part of our family before he married and had his own children.

We feel truly honored to have known Ray.  We enjoyed every moment we spent with him and will miss him very much.  Our hearts go out to you all!

My Father-In-Law, My Dad.  It doesn't take biology to be a Dad and you were that for me in every sense of the word for seventeen wonderful years - I called you Dad; to me, you were my Dad. I'm so sad that you've gone.  I miss you terribly.  You are forever in my heart, Dad.

I am so sorry to read of Ray's passing. We pray that the family will be comforted knowing of his great love for them. The Gas Company has lost another of it's greatest and treasured characters. I worked with Ray in Auditing, and Information Systems beginning in 1960 until his retirement and always considered Ray a true friend. May he rest in peace in the presence of His Lord and Savior.

Dad, you were always proud of all our accomplishments.  We admire the man you were and miss you so much.

My heart is with your family and if they are any reflection of you, you were a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. You will live on forever through them.

I'll really miss you and your wonderful stories and jokes. You have lived a wonderful life and having you as a grandfather makes me so proud ... You inspire me to be a better person. I glad that you are with God in heaven now, and I know that you will be watching over us. I love you Grandpa.
