Debbie. I had recently seen Ron in Amsterdam. Always positive, happy and just a good person. One of the few who really understoof the cargo business! It was a pleasure working with him, albeit mostly from a distance, but he will be terribly missed. You and your family are in my thoughts.

I first met Ron in 1983 and each and every encounter was a positive one.  Ron had a perpetual light within that radiated with love, joy and laughter which he shared with everyone.  He made you happy just to share a bit of  time and space with him.  Ron was a very thoughtful man and always remembered my husband and son and asked about them every time we talked.  He was not only successful but wanted those he worked with to be successful too and would find a way to support your efforts.  For a number of years at Tigers he was the light at the end of a phone line willing to go the extra mile to help me move freight thru the system.  He was a creative thinker who worked inside and outside the box to make things happen.  Ron was someone you just wanted to be around.    I count Ron as one of the special people in my heart and knowing his presence on this earth is done saddens me.  But, I know he is resting from his labors and his good deeds have gone with him, and that gives me comfort.    May eternal rest be granted to Ron and may God’s perpetual light shine upon him.

Ron was an amazing person. He was a caring, loving and thoughtful person. You always knew when he was in the office because he was so cheerful to everyone there. It will not be the same going into work. He was a wonderful manager and a great friend. I will miss him so much.

I am so deeply saddened by the passing of Ron, as are so so many others.  He was a terrific coworker, but more than that, he was a terrific friend.  I have known Ron since the early 80's and he always had a smile, kind word about everyone.  I still cant grasp that such a wonderful man is gone.  There will be a huge void in the lives and hearts of so many of us who had the privilege of knowing Ron and being his friend.  He was so loved and he will be so missed by so many.

Ron was a caring, loving and thoughtful person. He was more than a manager to me but a great friend. You always knew when Ron was in the office because he was so cheerful to everyone. It will not be the same coming into work. I will miss him so much. My prayers are with Deb and the family.

There is definetly another "Angel" on the California Angel's Roster.  It is Ronald Alan Labac.  He loved his family and was a great Husband, father and friend to many. How do you put 33 years of friendship into words?  As a co-worker Ron was the finest employee you could ever find.  We crossed over together from Flying Tigers to Fedex and when I heard he was coming to Memphis, later on, I knew he would shine.  He always took on the toughest and most challenging tasks in air freight, with style and grace.  Away from the office, we enjoyed many special moments.....too many to list, but I'll have to name a few;  Sitting in the "Tiger Seats" behind the Dodger Dugout, Having Mexican Food on Figueroa Street after the L.A. Olympics, Jumpseating to Chicago to watch the Cubs at Wrigley, Golf at Rec Park followed by cold ones at The Annex, or Joe Josts.....and all those Super Bowl Flag Football Games that Ron never missed.  Thanks for all the car pool rides in the Red Porsche from Long Beach to High Tiger.  The memories will carry me through time til we meet again someday. It was a true pleasure to work with Ron for so many years. He always had an amusing or interesting story to tell. He was a very genuine, down to earth guy. He handled work challenges calmly and with a sense of humor. He was so well known and loved at Flying Tigers, Fedex and in the cargo industry.

He was so much to so many. Husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, co-worker, boss, employee and always a friend. Never failing to take any role he was assigned and becoming a star. His laughter was contagious and his smile genuine.  He never turned you away, would listen with an open heart. I will miss my friend and some of our best times was just talking and eating Cheetos together. My prayers and thoughts are with the family at this time.  The world is now less one great man, but I am a better person by having known him.

To the Ron Labac Family:

Finding out about Ron sadden me so,such a loss for so many people that was touched by his kindness,professionalism,funniness and upbeat attitude.

Some time ago,I had sincerely offered for him and his family to come stay with us if he wanted to come to MD Anderson but he was pleased with the Tennessee
doctors and he had made such progress. 

I was so pleased for him and his family that he grew well enough to continue working at a steady pace but made time to enjoyed his family life too.
I admired that he kept a good balance on the two things that took most of his time and attention and through it all was always optimistic,realistic and steady in his conviction to be the best at both family and FedEx.

Although I was not an "Official Tiger" I always felt right at home with all the folks brought over on T -Day.
I had several weeks of classes in MEM during that time and Ron was always so warm and open to help me learn the tricks of the trade and I in turn taught him a thing or two about the FedEx way of life. 

He was a gentleman to all,a professional business manager to his peers and a beloved father and husband.

Ron earned his wings on earth,so as the gates of heaven opened,Ron was ready and willing to soar to serve his Lord.

He will be missed by all,

I worked with Ron for the last 12 years at FedEx.  Most of us recognized him as a very “special” person even before his diagnosis of cancer.  Ron truly cared about those individuals around him.  He always treated others with respect, regardless of their title or position.  Ron deeply cared for his wife Debbie and other family.  His humor was always a pick-me-up for those around him.  Ron remained positive and upbeat throughout the past year.  Never once did I hear him complain about his prognosis or the side effects of his cancer treatment.  I was amazed at Ron’s will power as he continued to work and travel, not taking any leave of absence from work.  Ron “always” entered & exited the office with a happy, upbeat greeting to others.  On his last day in the office, Ron left saying, “Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.”  Ron happened to be in California during the holidays when he passed.  I think California was always Ron’s true home state.  Ron—We will miss you!  But we are left with some very fond memories.

My condolences to the Labac family.  We are all here to support you during this trying time.

Ron was a wonderful person and had such an incredible sense of humor as well as love of life and for his loving wife Deb, his children, grandchildren and of course is beloved Mom Cille.  This is so heartbreaking and I feel blessed to have seen Ron the last time in Ohio, 2008, at Nick's wedding.  We had so much fun; it was actually reunion for the Troka side of the family seeing our Aunt Cille, counsins Larry Troka, our beloved late cousin Cynthia Lang and her husband Charlie Lang, cousin Nancy Mullins.

Ron always had that twinkle in his eye and was so much fun to be around.  He almost had me laughing.  As hard as this is for all, he is at peace now and with his Dad, his Aunt Lorrie who was also his God Mother, his Aunt Jean and Uncle Wally.  THey are all having a good old time as they have reunited.

I am so sorry for your loss. We will all miss Ron very much. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Having first met Ron in 1982, I will always remember his laugh and his smile. How he helped me learn the in and outs, and what I could and couldn't put on a 747. 
Although we lost contact after the FedEx merger and his move to Memphis, I never lost the feeling of having a true friend.
Having recently been given the chance to re-connect, whether it was his visit to Long Beach playing golf with friends or on the phone calls just talking about life, I never lost a friend. 
I will always remember us racing up the 405 Fwy to work, him in the red Porsche  usually winning, nor at the meetings with all the mucky-mucks him saying, 'you cant do that"  remember Ron,  we will always have "Paris". 

We all mourn the loss of our true friend.

Through Flying Tigers and FedEx, I had the honor of knowing Ron for 30 years.  He always had a smile and a great story and though I never had the pleasure of meeting his family, I felt I knew them all.  My deepest condolences.  This wonderful gentleman and friend will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Andy and I have so many good memories of Ron - We will always smile when we think of him. The ski trips to Utah were such fun - I treasure the past we shared.

My sincere condolences to Debbie and the Kids, and to Ron's Mom, Jim, Nancy and Kenny.  I first met Ron when we were both in Mrs. Smith's fourth grade class at St. Cornelius.  We were to become lifelong friends and we have stayed in touch throughout our lives.  I am so glad I got to play golf with Ron at the St. Anthony tournament in 2009.  That was to be the last time I saw him, and I will treasure that memory.  I am sure Dolan, Spud and Hern are feeling the same sadness as I am in having lost our dear friend and a great human being.  May he rest in peace and may God grant his family the strength to carry on.

Ron was a dear friend and colleague.  Of all the people I have met in the air cargo industry, Ron was the one that I most connected with.  

Ron really did not have an ego.  He was just a positive guy who took a real interest in the lives of his friends.  

I met Ron back in 1989 after the Fedex/Tigers' merger.  Ron was the "face" of FX to the forwarders.  This was not an easy job in those early post merger days.  He handled the job with grace. 

I saw Ron for the last time this past November in AMS at the TIACA conference.  We embraced like brothers.   I did notice his hair was thin, but so is mine these days.  We chatted for a long time during the conference and at the big Gala dinner.  He never mentioned his illness.  Therefore, I was just shocked by the news.  

To Ron's family, who I knew by name only, Debbie, Noel and Nick, your husband & dad was just a great guy.  I loved him.

I was very sad to hear of Ron's passing. My Mother told me the sad news, but also said that he was able to spend his final days with the ones that he loved. I hope that I can be that fortunate.

Ron Labac was a wonderful human being.  Ron often spoke of his loving family.  He loved his family and was very proud of them.  He was the most fabulous  Sales Manager at Fedex.  He was always positive and very supportive.  He always had an encouraging word for everyone.  You always felt better, after speaking with Ron.  He had a strong constitution and would fight for what he thought was the right thing.  He always acknowledged your  hard work and no special effort went unnoticed.  Ron had an amazing work ethic himself.  He handled his cancer struggle with such grace and strength.  I had such respect for Ron.

Ron was one of the truly nicest men I have ever met in my life.  The planet was a much nicer place because you were in it, dear Ron.  

 To Ron's Family:  May it help you to know, there are others who sympathize and care, who realize how much you shared, and hope that in time you will find peace and comfort in the special memories that only Ron could leave behind.
