Sherrill Renee Engle

Sherrill Rene Engle passed away at her Lakewood home on Sunday, July 16th, 2012 after a long and happy life. She moved to California in 1941 with her family from Springfield, MO. She is survived by her brother, Dennis (Mary) Powers, her two children Don (Ruth) Engle and Laura (David) Gray, as well as her four grandchildren, Sean (Coral) Engle, Scott Engle, Daniel and Amaya Gray.

The first word everybody used to describe Sherrill was "sweet". She was always so gentle and kind, always putting others before herself. And always remembering everyone's "special occasions" with a card - we are positive Hallmark will go out of business now! She spent most of her life with her husband Ray, in the same Lakewood home they watched go up board by board, in 1956. She left this home with so many beautiful memories...she was a "dream" mom and grandma, spoiling us all. She loved sewing and photography, reading and music. She was a lifelong Girl Scout and has always been involved with the choir at St. Cyprian's Catholic Church. We are sure she is singing with the angels right now. She will be greatly missed by many.
