Was saddened to hear of Joyce's passing. We were co-workers in LACOE's Budget Unit for many years, and she was always a fun person to be around. I appreciated her down-to-earth personality; and her sincerity in expressing what she thought about issues, etc. I know you'll miss her very much.

Dear Jerry and family, I am so very sorry in the passing of your beautiful mother. I know the pain you must feel as I lost my mother Elaine Killion a few years ago. I didn't know all of you just Jerry. My prayers and thoughts go out to you and your family. Just know she is at peace and rests in the arms of the Lord. She wants for nothing, She feels no pain. She is in a Glorious place called Heaven. She will be with you always. She will be the gently wind that  whispers and blows your hair on a fall day. She will be the sun that  kisses your skin on a Summer's day. She will be the Rainbow you often see after a Spring rain. She will be the chill in your bones on a Winters Day. To EVERYONE in the Angelini family (including Joyce's children, their spouses, and her grandchildren)... and most especially Geri (Angie) and Dave,

I am so honored and grateful to have met Joyce during the Summer of 2010.  Since that very first introduction to Joyce by Angie, I frequently replayed the clever and quick-witted comment Joyce made about her haircut.  Immediately I knew that I thoroughly liked this down-to-earth, genuine, funny and VERY REAL person.  I have thought of that moment so many times and have even shared that introduction to Joyce with other people.  

And although the time period since meeting Joyce was not very long in duration, Joyce made a very lasting impression on me.  I had the pleasure of having conversations with Joyce about how very important, amazing, and special her daughter, Geri, was to me (Dave, too) and that if her daughter or Dave EVER left Mammoth Lakes, that I would lay my body down in front of their car to prevent them from leaving; that they could never, ever move (we are neighbors, and more importantly, friends).  

There was, and of course still is, an incredibly special place in my heart for Joyce with respect to the conversations we had together about how special her daughter and Dave were to me... and Joyce would say things like, "Geri is very special to me, too."  She would say this with so much love and warmth in her heart.

So, when I heard about your illness, Joyce - Angie knows this - I truly thought of you EVERY SINGLE DAY.  I will truly miss you.  You made a lasting impression on me with your unique personality.  What an honor to have had the opportunity to have you in this world and in my life.

P.S.  Joyce, I am so thankful to have met, and spent some time with, all four of your children as well.

Well Joyce/mom; your four are trying to put together a service that any Dodger fan would be proud of.  They're all wearing jerseys and are serving Dodger dogs and are planning to T.P. Anahiem Stadium (well not really).  I have no doubt that you're getting a kick out of this.  In my short time knowing you, I've gotten to know someone with a great sense of humor; never shy about playing a joke on someone, but also warmth and caring and a zest for life and fun and the ability to sing songs that no one can remember the words to.  It was my pleasure to know you and wish I could have known you longer.  Geri and I will miss you.
