His most prized possession in life was his wife, Carmen, who preceded him in death earlier this year in February. They shared 56-years of love, devotion and many cherished memories.
Walter proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a Master Sergeant. He served in the Korean War with the 452nd Bomb Wing. Walter also retired from the Long Beach Harbor Patrol after working there for 22 years. A man of valor, full of strength and love for his family and friends; a model train enthusiast and collector; fondly known as “grumpy and often stubborn”, but always caring.
Walter was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his brother, Chester Clary, four of his five children; daughter, Diane Barron and sons, Walter B. Clary II, David M. Clary, Thomas R. Clary, grandchildren, David Barron, Jayson Barron, Craig Hasan, Brittnee Clary, Kyle Clary, Alyssa Neal, and 8 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his youngest son, Kenneth P. Clary. We send a special thanks to Barbara Hogg & Bob Minerich, who were by his side whenever he needed them, and for their extraordinary care and compassion during his last days.
He will be deeply missed and never forgotten, but he does leave us with the comfort of knowing he is finally at peace. His Celebration of Life services will be as follows:

God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be
so he put his arms around you
and whispered, "Come to Me."
With tearful eyes we watched you
and saw you pass away
and although we love you dearly
we could not make you stay.
A Golden heart stopped beating
hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
he only takes the best.
