Yolanda Lydia Munoz was born on November 7, 1941 died on February 28, 2013. She is the daughter of Carlos and Josephine Perez She spent her early years in Wilmington, California and is the beloved sister of Chuck, Fred, Oscar, Tony, Linda and Rene. Yolie graduated from Banning High School and has many lifelong friends from her years at school. She was married at Sts. Peter and Paul Church on February 8, 1964 to Albert Manuel Munoz, son of Ernest and Alberta and brother to Ernest and Lisa.
Yolie and Al have four children: Regina, Andree, Albert and Michael. The Munoz family was raised in Seal Beach and attended St. Hedwig’s. While raising her family she worked primarily as a housewife. Managing a household of six was challenging but she was always patient with her children and rarely brought out the wooden spoon. When her youngest was in elementary school Yolie began working at FHP in Long Beach. That was the start of her work in medical marketing field where she made many friends and enjoyed working with seniors. Yolie and Al also acted as leaders of the St. Hedwig Prayer Group for many years. They have a strong belief in the power of prayer, which has always provided them with God’s comfort.
God provided much needed strength when their cherished Albert passed away in 1989. The family embraced joy when Regina, Andree and Michael married.; and Sean, Chris and Jennifer joined the family. Yolie and Al are parishioners at St. Peter Chanel in Hawaiian Gardens and are blessed with seven grandchildren: Joseph, Chloe, Emma, Sophie, Daisy, Albert and Lily, who will sorely miss their Nani. The family is fortunate as they live close to each other and celebrate holidays, athletics and dance events together. Yolie is a graceful and uniquely generous woman. Her family and friends are truly blessed.
