She later attended Newtown H.S. She would not finish. But she would have her first son Michael Harris.
She would meet her life partner Ted King and they would later have 3 children, Ted(Pooch),Shemeeka(Mouth), and Shekeiva(Chocolate). The family settled in Flushing Queens, before relocating to Queensbridge Houses in 1985.
Georgia continued her education by earning her GED she attended secretarial school as well as nursing school. She would later become a Home Health Aide with the Bestcare Agency where she worked for years. She would retire after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
However that did not stop her. She had a strong spirit and lived to enjoy life and have a good time. She loved her music, cigarettes, and cocktails. Sam Cooke, Betty Wright and The Isleys were some of her favorites. She also loved Wrestling.
Her passion was to cook. She loved the kitchen and to grill. Her favorite holidays were July 4th and Thanksgiving. She would feed any and everybody. If you were really special you would get one of her cakes.
She especially loved her family. She doted on her grandchildren. They were her everything.
She was kind hearted with a mean streak. She would check you in a heartbeat. "Straight no Chaser, Holla back". She was known in her Queensbridge community for her humour, strong personality, straight forwardness, and throwing down in and out of the kitchen. She will be forever missed and loved.
On August 10, 2018 Georgia was called home. She passed away with her two daughters by her side.
Proceeding her in death and awaiting her with open arms are her parents Lee Essie and Johnnie Lee Harris; her four brothers James Webb, Roy Gay, John Dee, and Sam Gay; her oldest son Michael Harris and her favorite niece, her kissy baby; Melinda Massard.
Left to cherish many memories are her life partner Ted King. Her children and their significant others, Ted and his wife Marisol, Shemeeka (Jermain) and Shekeiva (Jerome); Grandchildren Tianna(Goldberg), Donovan (Head), Tamia (Tons, Sticks), Savannah( Holla) and Maya (Feed Me More). Her sisters, Charlene Massard (SC), Eunice Cooper (NY), Ruby Lee Harris (LA); Brothers, Charles Ray Harris (LA), David Harris(Tracy (NY)), Mack Charles Harris and Londell Neal ; Her best friend for 50 years Joan Jordan and her family.
She also leaves behind a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.
