Gladys Aldridge

Ms. Gladys Aldridge was born to the late Moese Johnson and Mattie Johnson Thompkins on September 20, 1950. She was the oldest daughter of four siblings. She attended and graduated from Wingate High School. She was a devoted mother of two children & grandmother of four. Through the years she showed her talents as a seamstress. She worked for the New York Housing Authority for 33 years and retired in 2008, due to health reasons.

Through the milestones of her life she always managed to have time to show love and concern for her family and friends.

She went home to be with the Lord on May 26, 2011. She will always be remembered for her kind heart and her positive outlook on life.Gladys was always willing to help anyone in their time of need and always showed great courage & strength.

Mother may you rest in peace now; you will forever be in our hearts. Her passing leaves to morn her devoted family, her loving Son Shavar Aldridge and Wife Denise Aldridge Belleville, NJ, Daughter Denisha Ford, Atlanta GA: Grandchildren Lance Manning Jr., Tyreek King’el, Taylor Aldridge & Devin Aldridge, two sibling, Brother Rodney Thompkins Brunswick GA, Sister Beverly Green and Husband David Green Atlanta GA: Nieces, Julie Johnson Atlanta, GA and Janay Green Atlanta, GA , Two Aunts, Helen Wright, Brentwood NY and Juanita and Thomas Marshall Raleigh NC: Two uncles: Major Keels and wife Vivian Keels, Manhattan NY, Buxie Keels and wife Frances Keels Charleston SC. and a host of cousins and friends.
