Fifteen seconds after the power was restored to my home last night, my phone rang. It was our cousin Maura calling to tell me the very sad news of the recent passing of our cousin Tim.
I did not have the pleasure of seeing Tim often since childhood, nor did I have the honor of knowing him as well as I would have liked, but I knew that he was someone special.
I last saw Tim when he showed up at my father's wake. The effort he made to do so deeply touched me, and meant so much to my mom (his dear dad's sister) as both my mom and dad thought so highly of Tim!
In the years since, up until my mom's recent passing, Tim continued to show his exceptionally kind heart through his most generous and ongoing offer to bring mom's cousin to Jersey for a visit.
We looked forward to that occasion which, through no fault of Tim's, unfortunately never did come to pass. But the thought of it and the hope of it meant so much to my mom, and I am so sorry that it is too late for me to let him know, and to thank him.
Watching the moving tribute brought more tears to my eyes, as Tim's beautiful spirit shined through every picture! His love of life and his love of his family was so evident, and equally evident was the love all those surrounding Tim have for him.
My heart is aching for Tims beautiful wife and children, and for our cousins, as I know your loss is immeasurable.
Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers, and please accept my heartfelt condolences.
May you feel Tim comforting you from heaven, and may you never doubt that love lasts forever.
Sincerely and With Love,
Your Cousin,
Tracy
