Albert Murphy Fisher

May 14, 1926 - September 1, 2015

The soul and spirit of Albert Murphy Fisher, known most of his life as Murphy Fisher left his body @ 4:20PM on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 to rest in peace until Jesus returns to take those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life to the eternal joy of heaven.

Murphy was born May 14, 1926 in Gregg County, Texas to parents Marvel Floyd Fisher and Irene Murphy Fisher. He attended Pine Tree Schools graduating in 1943 as Salutatorian. He studied Engineering at Kilgore Junior College one year before joining the U.S. Navy. He served 2 years as a signalman on the Troup Transport U.S.S. Wharton in the Pacific Ocean before returning to KJC for a 2nd year. He continued his Engineering studies at the University of Oklahoma graduating in 1950 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

His first love was the Church that Jesus purchased with His blood on the cross of Calvary. He had attended most of the Churches of Christ in the Longview area and was a member of the Post Oak Road Church of Christ when he died.

Preceding him in death were his father, mother, brother, wife Paula, step son Michael Cleveland, step daughter Victoria Roorda and step grandson Coleman Roorda.

He is survived by his son David Fisher and wife Robin of Longview; Steve Fisher of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Bruce Fisher and wife Annie of Longview; Granddaughter Amanda Roberts and husband Scott (with Dylan, Dalton and Abby); Granddaughter Amy White and husband Jeff (with Breydon and Baylee); Granddaughter Ashleigh Fisher (with Braxton); grandson Andrew Fisher of Houston; Step granddaughter Lisa Crabb and husband David (with Ty, Jessup and Coy); Step granddaughter Debbie Cleveland of Fort Worth; step grandson David Cleveland of Longview; and stepson-n-law Marvin Roorda of Antioch, California (with Mikele and Mason), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members.

Visitation is Sunday, September 6th from 6:30 - 8:30PM at Lakeview Funeral Home. Service is Monday, September 7th at 11AM also at Lakeview Funeral Home with interment to follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
