Funeral services for Mr. Arnold G. Krueger, 66, of Longview, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 20, 2011, at Longview Church of Christ, with the Rev. Robert Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jason Krueger, James Whittenberg, Richard Krueger, Bob Slama, J.P. Steelman and Alton Steelman. Honorary pallbearers are David Slama, R. V. Linson, Wayne Hickey, Brian Fitch and Clay Whittenberg.
Arnold was born July 1, 1944, in Firth, Nebraska, to Heinrich Wilhelm Gottfried "Henry" Krueger and Ruth Wilhelmina Buls Krueger. He passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011, in Longview.
Mr. Krueger was a veteran, serving four years in the U.S. Navy during Viet Nam and retiring from the Army National Guard and Reserve. He worked as a electrician. He was an avid woodcarver and was a member of the Wood Carvers Club. He also loved horses and farming.
Arnold is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers that passed away at birth. He is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Krueger of Longview; daughter, Rebecca Steelman and husband J.P of Longview; son, Jason Robin Krueger, brother, Richard Krueger and wife Sharon of Lincoln, Nebraska; sisters, Kathleen Krueger of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Marilyn Krueger of Longview; grandson, James Whittenberg of Longview; and granddaughter, Erin Whittenberg of Longview.
The family will receive guests from 6-8 p.m., today, January 19, 2011, at Lakeview Funeral Home.
