Billy George Drennan

Billy George Drennan died at home on July 31, 2022. He was born in Galveston, Texas to Marshall and Mary Elizabeth Drennan on October 17, 1931. He joined the Marine Corps at age 18, and served from November of 1948 to April of 1957. He met and married Mayre Tucker on June 5, 1965. They had three sons: Billy, Marvin, and James Drennan. Bill worked for Continental Can Company in Galveston, and later in Longview, for a total of 29 years. After retiring he and Mayre spent many years RV'ing, and working at National Parks. Bill is survived by Mayre, his wife of 57 years; sons, William and wife Lawanda, Marvin and wife Laura, and James and wife Deborah; grandchildren, Buffie Campbell, Dee Dee Griffith and husband Brandon, Camille Drennan, Brian Drennan, and Ryan Drennan; great-grandchildren, Liam, Madelyn, Landry, and Harlow. He leaves behind many other family members and friends. The service will be a private family gathering. Thank you to hospice, family, and friends for encouragement and assistance.
