

Funeral services for Chester L. Nugent, 86, of Longview, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 30, 2015 at Lakeview Funeral Home, with Revs. Leon Veazey and Charles Hunt officiating. Mr. Nugent was born March 23, 1929 in Olla, Louisiana, to John and Leora (Fairbanks) Nugent and passed into eternal life on October 27, 2015 in Longview, Texas. Chester retired after 42 year of driving a truck. After retirement, he enjoyed transporting cars for various car dealerships. Mr. Nugent loved to travel, so long as he could get there by car. He was a Mason and an Eastern Star. Chester was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the U.S. Army protecting the Pacific Coast. He served as a Deacon in the Baptist Church, and was very active in his church. Mr. Nugent loved to pick, tease, and make people laugh, but most of all he loved his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Maxine Gamel Nugent, eight brothers, and one sister. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of nine years, Beverly Wages Nugent, daughters, Karen Brooks; and LeAnne McClure-Oliver and husband, James Marcus Oliver; stepchildren, Dale Wages and wife Lisa; Karen Wages, and Rhonda Rancour, grandchildren, David McClure; SSGT. Shane McClure; Jamie Oliver Hales; Clayton Brooks; Matthew Brooks; and Margaret Varela, step grandchildren, Lucas Carrington; Casey Porter; Leah Wages; Melissa Wages; Blake Rancour; and Rodney Rancour. As well as eight great grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren; brothers, W. R. Nugent, and his younger, identical twin Lester Nugent. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Lakeview Funeral Home
