The game comes out soon,
one that you would have loved.
But in the end you didn't care
about anything.

You always went so quiet,
so quiet I couldn't stand it.
It hurt when you did that.

Not a room, or a call,
just emptiness now.
It hurts when I'm reminded
that you're really gone,
because it feels like you aren't.

Thirteen years of memories
call you back to join the fight.
But the fight was your own,
not anyone else's,
and I wanted to help,
but it was a losing battle.

I'm sorry.

Several years ago, Chris and Jade played a video game and streamed it online for people to watch and chat with them. It was a favorite game for me and my wife, and we were so excited to see them having fun with it. This is the only clip left that I could find from that time.

It’s a goofy puzzle game. In this clip, they are looking at an item in their inventory, trying to figure out exactly what a “rubber-chicken-with-a-pulley-in-the-middle” is.

I ripped up one of my favorite songs. Every beautiful song has a bit of everyone in it. But I figured I'd customize it a bit more.

It's how I feel now.

The channel, it feels so empty
the nights use to be so long
'Cause now we live alone
But when I close my eyes
You're standing there in front of me
When I close my eyes
It's almost like it used to be
Then I realize you're just a ghost
Maybe at most, a fragment of my mind
When I close my eyes
it's almost like you're still there
just online without me
The days can be so lonely
My friends, they take it slowly, hmm
I tell 'em that I'll try
But when I close my eyes
You're standing there in front of me
When I close my eyes
It's almost like it used to be
Then I realise you're just a ghost
Maybe at most, a fragment of my mind
When I close my eyes
Every thought I think
It cuts me like a knife
I just wanna bring
Bring me back to life
Tonight, the sun will set
Tomorrow, when we'll rise
All that I've got left
Is when I close my eyes
You're standing there in front of me
When I close my eyes
It's almost like it used to be
Then I realise you're just a ghost
Maybe at most, a fragment of my mind
When I close my eyes
When I close my eyes
When I close my eyes

Chris was my closest friend in life and someone who was there since around the time I even consciously lived. Chris was someone who understood me, we got along wonderfully and we lived our whole lives together. There he was in my beginning years... and now he’s gone...
I recall all the times we’d hangout in person when we were younger, doing things like crawling under a blanket thinking the grown-ups wouldn’t notice us. He was a brother to me and someone who had my back when I was in need. We loved to joke be silly together... one of my memories is of us laughing so much we couldn’t even stop. It pains me greatly that this has happened. Being on this website pains me. Although the pain will get easier, I’ll always miss Chris. Always.

To the family of Christopher Fuentes. I was told that you were interested in hearing some stories of Chris from his online friends. I played World of Warcraft with Chris, better known as AoE. Over the past week I've been trying to think of a story that could demonstrate my time i had with him and I have tell ya, that man just might of been the luckiest person to ever play classic WoW.
It didn't matter what we were doing. Whether it was fishing for the right elementals to be summoned in Silithus or farming dungeons to get gear. Chris and I were there almost every day doing something for the guild. One memory will stick with me for as long as I live.
I was farming a dungeon called Black Rock Depths trying to get a piece of armor for my warrior that was arguably the most sought after item in the game at the time. After days of running the dungeon and failing to acquire said item I was in discord complaining and in my rant to AoE he stopped me and said "let's just run it a few more times" Reluctantly I said yes because he always gets things to drop. So we leave for our expedition and I'm hopeful. On the third attempt of this dungeon there it was the Savage Gladiator Chain, SGC. I yell in excitement and not five seconds later I hear Chris just dying of laughter on the mic and as I look down I see that his character "Brochad" won the item. After a few seconds of self reflection I realized i couldn't even be mad. I knew he was bringing his warrior, I knew he needed the item and i knew it was silly of me to think that I could best "The AoE" in a roll off. The best part about this scenario was that it was a DAILY occurrence and this wasn't even the first time he won this particular item. One year earlier Chris won this exact same item in a previous version of WoW in the EXACT same way.

I will cherish all the memories i had with AoE and I hope that you as family understand that he was loved by his guild members in WoW. You have my deepest condolences. Much Love Much Peace

I met Chris through my cousin who was part of his online community. I’m very weird about welcoming people I don’t know as friends but for Chris it was pretty instant. He had a kind and caring way about him. I’m not very good at most games and even though we’d lose more than we’d win he was always patient and never rude about me dragging them down. I didn’t get to speak to Chris very much recently but I will truly miss gaming with him and just sitting in chat together till absurd hours to laugh and just talk.

If I were to call up a series of snapshots of my childhood, those days on Rainbow Rd. with you, me, Dom, and Moon taking turns playing Oblivion, manifesting our destiny on Rock Band, and just generally goofing off might stand out as the most colorful one.
Those days were the first in a lifelong lesson of understanding something: every family is truly unique unto itself.
It was unthinkable to me that siblings could get along so easily. It was almost like you even liked each other.
You always wanted to be around Dom when I was over, but you were pretty funny so I put up with it. You hacked me once! Stood behind and memorized my password. I turned around and there you are, hundred yard stare through my phone screen, watching the kaleidoscope of possibilities unfurl; then, after a split second you catch me staring back and just give me this impish smile before running off. It was my Pandora account, and yes, you did successfully derail my algorithm. Wasn't even mad. I was like Jesus that's funny then go on listening to "Adios mi Amor".
I never gave you props for that, so here they are.

I really didn't see the beauty in that Fuentes connectedness at the time, just thought y'all were crazy. I didn't see it until I was telling a story about y'all to a stranger years later, when I paused and recognized, how amazing it must have been to be such unconditional fans of each other.
As that stranger watched me stare into space with a dumb lookin smile, that was the moment. The lesson took. It's only now that I see that it came from you, the three of you, the five of you. What a delightful and pure thing it is to be a fan of someone. To support a person because you're so excited about them you can't help it.
Such a high form of love to find effervescent joy and uncomplicated admiration in another.
Chris, in no small way, you taught me how to love.
I never knew how to thank you for that, but here it is.
I wish you safe travels. Be brave. Go find her. Adios, mi amor.

Chris was a comedic genius. My best memories of him are of him making everyone around him laugh. We shared many conversations late into the night about theories, culture, and life, and he had a genuine curiosity about the world.

One thing I always loved about Chris was how deeply himself he was. He never felt the need to follow the crowd, and I always respected his individuality and the way he saw the world differently.

My dearest beloved family., sending love hugs your way and sincere heartfelt condolences and prayers for Divine Peace for all family and believing wholeheartedly Chris is resting in Peace and at Home now free. Amen!! I love you all!! Blessings today and forever!!! Feeling regretful not able to attend, mainly due to age and health issues!

I had the pleasure of going to elementary school with Chris at ETCS and high school with him at LCS, luckily we were in close proximity for most of our younger years.
Chris was always such a funny and sweet guy.
Excellent taste, I loved sharing music and movie recommendations with each other on the big blue bus.
Reading about what he had going on in his life and how dedicated he was to his wife, has only solidified what an amazing man he was.
He will be missed, always talked about positively and loved.
I’m so sorry to the family, you guys did such an amazing job with making this one.

Sending all the love.

I only met Chris a couple of times thru Moon but I could tell he was a special person!
My heartfelt condolences to family and his friend! Moon and Dom sending Love, BIG Hugs and prayers 💔

I met Chris a few years ago online. He was the leader of our community, and was passionate and kind. Some nights we would be in a call for hours, talking about strategies or whatever else was going on. He was a great person and always fun to be around. He really made the experience for me as a new member of our group and throughout the years. During this time, I never once heard him get mad or raise his voice at someone. He was one of a kind. I'll miss him, and I hope it's known what an impact he had on us.

Senior banquet. Chris being a goofball like usual lol.

We celebrated July 4th 2017 together. One of the few times I got to hang out with Chris after graduation and is definitely glad we did! He was always so easy to be friends with and will be missed by many.

Chris came to live with me in Tulsa back in 2018/2019 (when he met Jade). I’ve never been a birthday person and he had never given me a gift. But one day he randomly said “I ordered you a birthday gift, you’re gonna love it. It’s 2 of your favorite things in 1”.

When this coffee mug showed up with his face we just laughed and laughed, and I told him it was the best gift I’d ever gotten.

The picture was taken by me on his first day in Tulsa. We were taking it for his Tinder profile, and THAT FIRST NIGHT jade and him met on tinder and began their relationship. He also told me the next day that he knew she was the one, to which I said “wow that is a lot of confidence buddy” 🫶🏼

It will forever be my favorite gift.

I’m so very sorry to hear about Chris..
We were in the same class at LCS until I left my freshman year.
ALL memories I have of Chris are happy ones- he was SO effortlessly funny and genuinely kind to everyone.
My condolences to his family and everyone who loves him.

I’ll miss you every day. So grateful for every amazing moment we shared. You always felt like my brother, or even closer than a brother..
thank you for being yourself every day, unapologetically. Thank you for the ways you’ve changed my life, and the lives of so many. You will be forever remembered in our hearts. You can’t forget an angel. <3

A few years back I came to know Chris through online gaming. While we never met in person I knew through the way he made every gaming session we had a fun and memorable one, that he was a kind, wonderful and caring person. He always made me laugh every time we would game with some jokes or just him being goofy. I will miss those moments with Chris and I'm glad we were able to create those moments. I offer my prayers and condolences to his family and friends.

Chris was there everyday. We hung out almost 24 7 on and off everyday if I wasn't working I was in a video call with him goofing off and having the best time of my life. I don't believe relationships are just strictly in person, cause Chris was everything to me. It's all I looked forward to every day getting online and seeing his raw energy. Such a funny positive guy. Never had anything negative to say and that's hard to come by. Chris thank you for giving me the time you gave me

I first met Chris while playing video games with my cousin Trey. From the very beginning, Chris was one of the coolest and kindest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. Whether we were gaming, talking, or just hanging out online, he always made those moments better. I’ll truly miss our conversations and the time we spent playing together. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed.

While never being able to meet in person, Chris was a great friend to me. From the late night gaming sessions to just sitting in discord calls first thing in the morning on weekends to chat it up. Chris never shied away from making me feel like he had known me for years. I will forever miss our goofy endeavors. Much love and condolences to the family.

愿天堂没有痛苦，愿你永远幸福，愿我们下辈子做一辈子好兄弟。

There are many important things to say about Chris. He was a best friend to my partner Caleb but he was also a good friend to me. He didn’t judge others, he was always incredibly patient and kind. I never heard him complain. He was always honest with you and was not afraid to speak his mind. I always admired him. How wise he was, how differently he thought about the world, and how he shared his positive energy and views with those around him.

In the last few months, I tried to talk to him or game with him most every day. I made it my goal to just try and make him giggle a few times while we were on the phone. Even though I knew he was facing a lot of hardship these last months he never failed to be so kind and patient with me.

Some of the things I will always remember about Chris are him playing rocket league with Caleb and screaming “WHAAA-CHAA” while trying to score a goal. I will remember the weeks him and Caleb stayed on discord calls for 8+ hours a day while they were gaming or working. His voice was always so comforting to me. It felt like he was in the home with us all the time.

I am so grateful that I got to meet Chris in person recently. I love you Chris. Thank you for being such a great friend to my husband and to me. I will carry your wisdom you shared with me as I move forward in this life and remember your loving spirit. I’m so glad you are not in pain anymore and you are resting comfortably with your soulmate Jade.

I send positive, loving, and healing energy to Chris’s family. Chris was a light in this world and I’m grateful I got to know him.

Chris Fuentes was my best friend for maybe 11 years.

We met in 2015 playing video games on the computer, and we spent countless hours together in World of Warcraft and other games. We went through some tough times. Sometimes we stopped talking for a while, but we always came back to each other.

I always thought that’s just how our friendship would be.

He was my best friend. It wasn’t always easy, but I’ve never met anyone as funny as Chris, or anyone who had the same sense of humor as me the way he did. We made so many videos together and shared so many stupid, funny, unforgettable moments.

For months I tried to convince him that there was more life to live, and I kept telling him I wanted to finally meet him in person. I said dumb things to him, I tried to inspire him, and I just tried to make him understand how many people loved him--even if we were just digital friends who had never met.

But it just wasn’t in the cards.

I’m going to miss him more than I know how to say.

This may not mean much I'm Chris's friend. Chris was everything to me. Coming home everyday and getting in discord with Chris was indiscribable. I loved every minute I spent with him. I'd do anything to have more moments like those. I'm truly sorry to the family and friends who lost a perfect soul. I love when Chris would play games and say "oh yeah!" Or "oh baby!"

My heart goes out to Albert, Karen and Chris's brother Dominick and sister Jessica.
I pray that in the midst of your sorrow, you find comfort in all the joyful memories you shared. Someone so special will never be forgotten.
