

1932 in Louise, MS to James Calvin and Birdie Lee (Hatcher) Boyd.
Before moving to Longview in 1969, he served his country in the Marine Corps and Reserves. He also worked as a law enforcement officer in Mississippi. He told great stories and was a talented dancer. He worked for the Arthur Murray Dance Company for 10 years, and he and his wife, Celeste, danced through this life together for the last 60 years. After moving to Longview, he owned his own paint and wallpaper business. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also loved God's word. He served as an Elder, Administrative Board member and Sunday School teacher at Holy Trinity where his family were Charter members, currently known as Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Longview. He was also well-known for having peppermints in his pocket.
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 13 from 6-8 pm at Lakeview Funeral Home, Longview. Funeral services will be Monday, April 14 at 2 pm at Lakeview with Reverend Beau Sullivan assisted by Reverend William Rawlins officiating. Cleve is survived by his wife, Celeste Boyd; children, Dean Boyd & wife, Derena and Jackie Leszcynski & husband, Ted; grandchildren Tiffany Castillo & husband, Danny, Becky Davis & husband, Michael, Jennifer Hill & husband, Jacob, Brittany Taylor & husband, Hunter, Steffany Bowling & husband, Josh, Ted & Melanie Leszcynski, and Jordan & Cole Hughes; 8 great grandchildren; & many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Cleve was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and two children, Lyn and Cy Boyd.
