Corinne Gwendolyn Sorensen

Corinne “Gwen” Pederson Sorensen, daughter of Oscar and Annie Mae Pederson, was born in Dallas on August 17, 1926. She passed away Friday April 15, 2011 in the loving arms of her daughters and families from complications from a stroke.

Mrs. Sorensen is survived by her 2 daughters Karen Harding and her husband Charlie, and Susan Mosley and her husband Charles. She also has four grandchildren Heather Mosley, Charles Harding III and his fiancée Amy Kinkaid, Amanda Elia and her husband Jonathon, and Melissa Mosley, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Sorensen was preceded in death by the love of her life Walt Sorensen. Walt and Gwen were raised, baptized, confirmed and married in the first Trinity English Church of Dallas in 1945.

Mrs. Sorensen was a longtime resident of Longview were she was a devoted wife, mother and “Memaw” to the grandkids. Memaw took great pride in the grandchildren and showed her love and support by being in attendance for everything she could be present for.

Mrs. Sorensen was proud to have received her Bachelor of Science Degree from UT Tyler. She enjoyed being a member of the Sunshine Class and Newsletter folding group, as well as an active member of Greggton United Methodist.

The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Monday April 18, at Lakeview Funeral Home. Services will be at 3pm Tuesday at Greggton United Methodist with Dr. Jonathan Bynum officiating.
