Dolores Moody, 77, of Longview, TX, passed away November 9, 2015 in Dallas. She was born December 11, 1937 in El Paso to Herbert and Loretta Lovelace Grimmett. She graduated from Ysleta High School in El Paso in 1956 and married Kenneth David Moody February 3, 1957, in El Paso.
Mrs. Moody was the very definition of a homemaker and mother. She loved her Lord above all, and then her family. She was a wonderful cook, and a devoted wife and mother. She also loved gardening and planting flowers, and took great pride in her home. She was an artist, Sunday school teacher, and an excellent seamstress. Her grandchildren enjoyed being the center of her attention, and could always count on “Mimi” being at all their activities and school functions. She especially enjoyed being able to take care of those around her, including her own mother in her later years.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth, of Longview; daughter, Lisa Martin, of Longview; grandson, Kyle Kelley, of Longview; granddaughter, Melissa Young and her husband Michael of Dallas; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home, with a time of visitation with the family to be held after the services.
