WHITE OAK — Funeral Services for Mr. Donald R. Woods, 84, of White Oak, will be 3 p.m. Saturday May 25, 2019, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Longview. Viewing will be one hour prior to service, beginning at 2 p.m. Mr. Woods was born August 10, 1934, and passed away May 21, 2019. Dick attended Sunset High School in Dallas, then joined the U.S. Marine Corp. He worked as a master machinist for Ling-Temco-Vought. He retired from TXU and later worked for Merritt Tool. His passion was hunting and fishing. His family nicknamed him “The Great White Hunter”. He was a dedicated friend to many, known for his sense of humor, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. Dick is survived by his wife of 57 years, Polly Husband Woods; their son, Donald Woods Jr. and wife Kathryn of Georgetown, with grandchildren Zack, Brittany, Alana, Sofia and Finnin; daughter, Vickie Woods Holder and husband Kerry; and son, Nicholas Duchon and grandsons Nathan, David, Dominick and Jr; his sister, Judy Hahn Pfeil; and brother, Bill Hahn. He was preceded in death by his father, John Woods; mother, Mae Shaw Hahn; and brothers, Charles John Woods and Robert Lee Woods.
