Jean was born on October 9th, 1935 to Frank Matthews and Vona Owens in Center, Texas. Jean married Mark David Hatheway and they were married for 55 years. Together they raised a family and had four children. Jean was a member of Zion Tabernacle. She had a passion for gardening and interior decorating. Above all she loved to share the word of God with her family.
Jean is preceded in death by her husband Mark David Hatheway, son Mark Hatheway Jr., parents Frank Matthews and Vona Pannel, and granddaughter Anna Hatheway.
She is survived by her children; Debbie Register, Barbara Bays, and Donna Rankin, siblings; Iva Jean Phifer and Verna dean Kraum and 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday September 9th, 2023 at 10:00 am at Lakeview Funeral Home in Longview, Texas. Serving as Pallbearers are John Hatheway, Billy Townsend, Bradley Townsend, Chris Bradford, Tiger Thomas, and Ray Plunket.
