

Elizabeth Anne Packard was born on August 11, 1923 in Brownfield, Texas. She passed away on May 12, 2013, surrounded by loved ones, in Bastrop, Texas. Elizabeth married Robert T. Packard, who preceded her in death in 1988. Elizabeth earned her BA degree at Texas Tech and worked for the Standard Oil Company, where she met her husband shortly after World War II. They relocated to Longview shortly after the birth of their first son. Elizabeth was a long-time member of Elmira Chapel in Spring Hill, where she was the church secretary for many years, later becoming the Secretary-Treasurer for the Amoco East Texas Federal Credit Union until her retirement.
Having grown up in the Depression and Dust Bowl era, Elizabeth kept a practical and faith-based optimism throughout her life. She is survived by her two sons, Robert Packard of Elgin, and Richard Packard of Bainbridge Island, Washington; as well as three grandchildren, Sarah Wilson of Georgetown, Claire Packard of Austin, and William Benjamin Packard of Seattle; as well as two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Rebecca Wilson of Georgetown.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Elmira Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 3501 Elmira Drive, Longview, Texas with Dr. James M. Cantey officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2013 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
