

Ernest Latham, passed away July 16, 2012 at his residence in Longview. Ernest was born June 4, 1931 in Linden, TX to Berry and Thelma Latham, and is now home with his Lord and Savior. He loved his country and proudly served in the U.S.A.F. during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of New Colony Baptist Church. He retired from R.G. LeTourneau in July of 1993 after 42 years as a welder and fabricator.
Ernest truly loved people, he never met a stranger. He enjoyed music, reading, gardening, family history, and sharing produce from his garden with family and friends.
Left to cherish the many precious memories and lessons he taught are his loving wife of 53 years: Levona Ann Latham of Longview; his three children: Mary Elizabeth Drennon and her husband david of Segoville, TX, Sarah Ann Everett and her husband Robert of Saginaw, TX, Carroll Benson Latham and his wife Lorelie of San Antonio, TX; his seven grandchildren: Daniel Drennon and his wife Yolanda, Jennifer Locke and her husband Jay, Jake and Joshua Everett, Jordan, Hannah, and Jericho Latham; six great grandchildren: Justus, Serenity, Kaydance, and Silas Locke, Haildy and Gabriel Dennon; his one remaining sibling of seven children, his sister: Maynell Towns of Houston. He is preceeded in death by his parents, five siblings-one twin brother and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 20, 2012 at New Colony Baptist Church, 3806 US Hwy 59 North, Linden, TX 75563. Burial will follow in New Colony Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Lakeview Funeral Home, 5000 West Harrison Road, Longview, TX.
