Ernestine Redford Summers

Ernestine “Tine” Summers, 90 of Gilmer, Texas passed away on April 9, 2014 at a hospital in Gilmer, Texas. She was born on October 11, 1923 in Kerens, Texas to Ernest Edward and Gladys Jetton Redford. She was an avid reader, enjoying anything that she could get her hands on especially her bible, and loved being around her grand and great grandchildren-they were her life. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Gladewater.

She is survived by her daughters: Shirley Thompson and her husband Ronnie of Gilmer, and Vickie Conger and her husband Robert of Greenwood, LA; sons: Darrell Gene Summers and Harold Dean Summers both of Gilmer; stepdaughters: Bulah Faye Newman and her husband Lyle of Stillwater, OK, and Carolyn Marie Estes and her husband Roy of Chickasaw, OK; grandson: Jason Keith Farles of Gilmer; granddaughter: Ashley Renee Gonzalez and her husband David of Gilmer; granddaughter: Arielle Christine Summers of Hallsville; granddaughter: Wendy Bearry and her husband John of Glenco, OK; granddaughter: Elizabeth Lehman and her husband Elliott of Chickasaw, OK; granddaughter: Letha Rushing and her husband Gary of Chickasaw, OK; grandson: Lyle Domangue of Longview; great grandchildren: Thomas Thompson, Louren Thompson, Dillon Thompson, Nicholas Thompson, Karlee Farles, Devin Gonzalez, Aubree Gonzalez all of Gilmer, Haleigh Farles, Jazzlyn Simpson, Lucy Simpson, and Henry Chestnut all of Hallsville; great great granddaughter: Alice Thompson of Linden; sister: Doris Fox “Aunt Sissy” and her husband Wesley of Conroe, TX; brothers: William Redford ”Uncle Sonny” of Garland, TX, and Charles Redford of Houston, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters; three brothers; granddaughter: Mary Jane Thompson; grandson: Ronald “Little Ronnie” Thompson, Jr.; great grandson: Joshua Thompson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home with the Rev. David McGee officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family is scheduled from 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2014 also at the funeral home.
