

Mr. Wilson never met a stranger. He was a friend to all who would speak with anybody. He knew every mechanic in Longview, and he loved to talk cars with anybody.
Homer proudly served his country in the United States Army. He supervised the design and construction of metal buildings for Armco Steel across the United States and internationally. He enjoyed hunting, cars, and car repairs. He was a Mason and member of First Baptist Church Longview.
Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jerry; and brother, Robert.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Joyce L. (Coats) Wilson; sons, Mitch Wilson and wife Tracey of Longview and Jay Wilson and wife Alicia of Savannah, Georgia; grandchildren, Lindsey Wilson Hill and husband Jimmy, Grant Wilson and wife Allison, Caroline Wilson, and Claire Wilson; and great-grandchild, Peyton Hill.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Longview. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to be made to Heartsway Hospice of Longview.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lakeview Funeral Home.
